Who we are
VisionGram is a registered Zambian social enterprise combining expert eye care with a public health approach. Revenue-generating optical services help fund free and highly subsidized care for children, elderly people, rural communities, and persons with disabilities.
To make quality vision care accessible while building pathways to dignity, inclusion, and fuller participation in daily life.
A Zambia where avoidable vision impairment no longer limits a person’s potential, education, independence, or livelihood.
Who we serve
Long distances, transport costs, care fees, and the price of spectacles or assistive devices can delay treatment. Limited awareness and gaps in low-vision assessment also mean many people miss timely care, rehabilitation, and support for daily life.
E-learning, smartphones, remote work, and digital-economy platforms make healthy screen habits essential. Symptoms include headaches, blurred vision, dry or irritated eyes, and neck or shoulder discomfort.
What we do
From first screening to rehabilitation and economic inclusion, our services meet people where they learn, work, and live.
Specialized assessment, pediatric pathways, assistive devices, mobility and rehabilitation training, family support, and frontline-worker training.

Built for reach
We work through familiar community, education, and workplace settings—then connect screening to the care, referral, rehabilitation, and follow-up each person needs.
Our sustainability strategy
VisionGram Optics Africa operates a social enterprise model in which revenue generated through optical services supports community outreach and services for vulnerable populations, including low vision rehabilitation and digital eye strain screening.
This approach enables long-term sustainability beyond donor funding.
